Build a job-winning portfolio in minutes

September 1, 2026 I built PortLift because most portfolio "case studies" are one lazy paragraph

Spent the weekend building Portlift — a portfolio builder with an AI feature that turns messy project notes into a real case study (problem/process/outcome + pulled metrics) instead of the usual "built X using Y" one-liner nobody reads.

Stack: TanStack Start on Whop's app hosting, Sign-in-with-Whop for auth, Upstash Redis for persistence (no traditional DB), Gemini for the case-study generation.

Pricing: free tier (3 projects), $12/mo Pro (unlimited + AI case studies + custom URL), $39/mo Team (5 seats + shared brand kit). Also selling the whole codebase standalone for $250 if anyone would rather buy the source than build their own.

Where I'm at: live, checkout works end to end, zero customers so far — posting here because that's exactly the problem. If you've got 2 minutes, brutal feedback on the free tier is genuinely what I need right now, not compliments: https://portlift.whop.site

The AI case-study feature feels like the real wedge, not the portfolio builder itself. Curious whether your zero-customer problem is more about people not needing a portfolio badly enough, or about the case-study transformation not being compelling enough to justify paying for it.
