This is a product I've long wanted to build. The problem I face is wanting to leave Facebook but being worried I'll lose contact with people.

Facebook acts as my de-facto address book, everyone I know is on it, and for many of those contacts, the only way I have of messaging them is via Facebook.

At the same time, traditional contact apps aren't working for me. Entering addresses and contact details for all my contacts is laborious, and the result is that some details are out of date, and in most cases I don't have someone's address. Cue Christmas/birthday WhatsApp messages along the lines of 'what's your postcode again...?'.

To help me leave Facebook, and to provide an easier way to share contacts and stay in touch, I want to build a durable, online address book. Sharing contact details will only require a few clicks, and crucially, it will support sharing addresses.

Unlike traditional contact apps where everyone has their own copies of contact details, in Poto, there is a single source of truth for each email, phone number, address etc. So, for example, when you update you phone number, all your friends automatically have the latest version.

You can think of it like a social network without the social media.
