July 24, 2026 After 20 years as a software engineer, I finally launched my own app

Hi everyone!

I'm Shahnewaz, a software engineer from Bangladesh with 20 years of experience building web and mobile applications.

After spending years building products for other companies, I finally launched one of my own: Prescription Saver.

The idea came from a simple problem. Many people save prescription photos, but they're difficult to organize and find later. Prescription Saver lets users organize records by family member and quickly search by title, doctor, hospital, or tags.

The app is still in its early days, and I'm actively improving it based on user feedback.

I'm excited to join the Indie Hackers community, learn from other founders, and share my journey of building products.

I'd love to hear your feedback or answer any questions!

Organizing prescriptions by family member feels like a natural starting point.

Has there been anything you've learned that changed your view of what people are actually trying to preserve—a prescription itself, or the context around it when they need it later?

So far, I've learned that people usually start by wanting to save the prescription itself, but what they really need later is the context around it. They want to know whose prescription it was, when it was issued, which doctor they visited, and sometimes they need to find it quickly during a follow-up appointment or in an emergency. That's why I'm focusing on simple organization by family member, along with titles, dates, and labels, so users can find the right record in seconds without adding unnecessary complexity.

        Appreciate the context.

Would be good to continue the conversation as you learn more about how people use it.

What's the best email to reach you on?

About

Prescription Saver exists because storing prescription photos isn't the same as managing them. It helps users organize records by family member and quickly search by title, doctor, hospital, or tags.
