Prism
News, Refracted
Hey Indie Hackers,
Like many of you, I’ve spent the last couple of years getting incredibly exhausted by how polarized the media landscape has become. It feels like every major news event is instantly spun into opposing narratives, and finding the objective truth in the middle feels like a second full-time job.
Instead of just muting my news feeds, I decided to build a solution: Prism (prismapp.co.in).
The Concept
Think of it like a literal prism for information. When a major story breaks, Prism takes that single event and refracts it into its full spectrum of viewpoints, sources, and angles. The goal is to help readers break out of algorithmic echo chambers, spot bias effortlessly, and actually form independent opinions based on the whole picture.
Where it's at right now
I'm currently building this out as an early-stage project and trying to keep momentum high. I just got our product page set up here on IH, and now I’m looking to refine the product itself.
I’d love your feedback on two things:
The Value Prop: When you land on prismapp.co.in, is it instantly clear what the app does, or does the copy need a rewrite?
Features: If you were to use a news tool like this daily, what is the one feature it absolutely must have? (e.g., bias sliders, cross-referencing, source tracking?)
Appreciate any insights, roasts, or advice you can throw my way!
