Pro-QR

Custom QR codes with dynamic links and simple analytics.

July 20, 2026 I built Pro-QR to make dynamic QR codes simpler

I started building Pro-QR after noticing that many QR code tools fall into one of two extremes: they are either very basic, or they become expensive and unnecessarily complex as soon as you need dynamic links or analytics.

Pro-QR aims to sit in the middle. It lets users create customizable static and dynamic QR codes, organize them, update destinations and view essential scan analytics from a simple dashboard.

The product is currently free while I validate which features people actually find useful and what still needs improvement.

I would especially appreciate honest feedback on three things:

Is the product easy to understand without instructions?

Which feature feels most useful?

What would stop you from using it instead of another QR tool?

You can try it here: https://useproqr.com

I am still improving it, so criticism is more useful to me than compliments.

I like that you're validating where the product should sit instead of trying to compete on having the longest feature list.

I'm curious which capability users end up mentioning first without being prompted. That often says more about the product's real value than the feature set itself.

That’s a good point. So far, the clearest signal has been the combination of dynamic QR codes and straightforward scan analytics especially being able to change the destination without replacing the QR. I’m paying close attention to what people mention on their own though, because I agree: that’s probably a better indicator of where ProQR should focus than simply adding more features.

That’s a useful signal. The dynamic destination plus scan analytics sounds like the clearest value users are recognizing so far.

Exactly. That’s also the pattern I’m starting to see from the feedback. The ability to change the destination after printing seems to be the first thing people understand immediately, and scan analytics tends to reinforce the value rather than be the main reason by itself. What I’m trying to figure out now is whether that’s enough to make people switch from existing QR tools, or whether ProQR still needs a much sharper use case. If you were in my position, would you focus on a specific niche first or keep it broad for a bit longer?

That’s an interesting point to explore. I’d be happy to continue the conversation beyond the thread — would you be open to sharing the best email to reach you on?

QR codes are used everywhere, but many existing tools are either too limited or unnecessarily complex and expensive. I wanted to build a clearer alternative that combines customizable static and dynamic QR codes.
