I think this was a combination of Black Friday, better promotion and ads - I spent a few hundred dollars on ads this month, more blogging and the podcast.
I also incorporated a viral trick which was to ask those who sign up to the course to tweet or share about it - I offer a free gift.
Another successful trick has been working on lead generation stuff such as www.learnprobprogramming.me

At some point I think in early October I had over 5 paying customers. This was a big milestone for me.
I learned a lot from speaking to customers, and chasing up those who didn't convert. I improved the documentation, added more content on blogs and youtube all to entice more customers. I also made it clearer what the value proposition was
