The problem I kept seeing
Quality revision tools are either expensive, locked to one country's curriculum, or both. A student in Lagos preparing for JSS exams and a student in London revising for KS3 have the same need — structured, reliable, curriculum-aligned help. But almost nothing serves both.
I couldn't find a single platform that covered UK KS3, Nigerian JSS, and Canadian curricula in one place. So I built one.
What I built
ProgressPath (progresspath.app) is a free AI-powered learning platform. Students go through a lesson → quiz → revision → complete flow for each topic. There's a badge system to keep motivation up, a 40-question subject assessment, topic unlocking, and AI-generated lessons via Claude Sonnet.
Current coverage: 897 curriculum topics across 5 curricula — UK KS3, Nigeria JSS, Ontario, Western Canada, and Atlantic Canada.
It's completely free. No subscription, no freemium wall.
The honest bit
This is a solo build alongside a full-time job. I work in data and analytics by day — SQL Server, Power BI, Office Scripts — and build ProgressPath in the margins. No co-founder, no funding, no VC conversations.
The hardest part wasn't the code. It was researching and structuring 897 topics across 5 different national curricula while making sure the AI-generated content was actually curriculum-accurate. That took a lot of iteration.
Where I am now
The platform is live and deployed. I'm now focused on getting it in front of the parents and students who need it — particularly in the UK, Canada, and Nigeria. No revenue yet (it's free), but I'm exploring whether a school/institution tier makes sense down the line.
What I'd love from this community
Has anyone built a free EdTech product and found a sustainable model later? Curious how others have thought about monetisation without compromising the free access.
Any IH members with connections in the Nigerian, Canada or UK education space — would love to chat.
Brutal feedback on the product is welcome.
