Student Subscriptions Launched
It's hard to market to students, this is just a first step in the goal to launch school subscriptions which will enable direct sales.
I have learned that schools will enable me to perform direct sales to schools. Selling to parents and students are a more difficult audience to target I've found.
Researching my audiences needs and where they 'are' has been a huge learning curve.
About
The two primary reasons for Project Maths existing are as follows: 1. My brother, a GCSE maths teacher wanted a website to share all of his resources 2. Private tutors are expensive and a lot of families cant afford it

From my own experience as a student I mostly react to videos about education platforms when they are marketed on instagram promoted ads.
Amazing thank you. I have just today been looking into getting a video advertisement created for IG and Snapchat but this just further confirms the idea. Thanks!
For sure, I always scroll Instagram when I'm most stressed about school lol, that's when I'm most likely to buy / use a school related product:)
I would think that promoting to parents would be ideal for this, I would look for where parents hang out. MumsNet, NetMums, Facebook groups, etc. You probably can't go promoting your product in their faces there, but you can participate, get to know them, start discussions around GCSEs/maths.
100% agreement with Rosie, we used that for our product too.
You can be quite frank sometimes on Facebook groups - as long as you understand that they are watercoolers, not billboards. While directly posting into a group is usually seen as spam, offering a link and a thoughtful response in a comment to a relevant conversation works pretty well.
Thanks! Yeah I have always been one to contribute value with a response and if its relevant provide a link to my project. Glad to hear this is working for you.
By any chance is your product in the education sector? If so any further tips would be hugely appreciated
Our product is in EdTech indeed. We run FeedbackPanda, a productivity SaaS for online teachers.
We are targeting the teachers, so that may be a bit different, but we have found that Facebook and IN PARTICULAR Instagram are incredibly useful platforms to get the word out.
I would assume parents to frequent Instagram even more than Facebook. Building a content-based brand to tell parents about how their kids can larn better (with free content) will do wonders for your engagement.
We did this for teachers and how they can optimize their teaching. Did really well.
Provide content to help band-aid their problems. Then lead them to your product that provides the real cure.
This is great. Thanks so much for sharing your experience it will be a huge help for me.
Thanks! Definitely something I've thought about and you've mentioned some great communities there that I should get involved with.
Always torn between adding new features vs promoting the platform (especially since this is a side project at the moment with limited available time).
Also, home educators, lots of FB groups around for them and parents wanting an easier way to get their kids to pass their maths exams. :)
I can post it to a home ed group or two if you would like.
That would be incredible. I'd definitely appreciate that.
Again some great ideas I'm going to make some time to look into these avenues further. Thank you!
Your 'Register now for £5' button doesn't work.
Fixed!
Thanks going to fix this now!
Sorry to sound like a pain, the register button says £5, but there is no mention of it on registration. I think this will confuse and put people off registering.
You are absolutely not being a pain this is great feedback thank you! It does mention it in the drop down as you can sign up for a free/pain account. But I absolutely agree this should be more clear.
