Prompt Helix

Ask AI questions about any webpage. NO COPY PASTING NEEDED

March 13, 2026 I got tired of burning tokens explaining what I was already looking at. So I built a Chrome extension to fix it.

I'm a CS student and a heavy AI user. I pay for Claude and ChatGPT Plus. I use them constantly whether for studying, for building, for understanding things I'm reading online.

But I kept hitting the same wall. I'd be on GeeksForGeeks, or reading docs, or scanning some webpage and I'd want to ask AI about it. So I'd copy the whole thing, paste it in, then spend the first part of my prompt just explaining what I was already looking at before I could ask my actual question.

Wasted tokens. Wasted money. Wasted time.

Claude literally cannot see what I'm seeing. Why am I manually bridging that gap every single time?

So I built Prompt Helix.

It's a Chrome extension that sits on any webpage. Click it, ask your question or pick a built-in intent (Summary, Key Points, Fun Fact), and it sends the page content directly to your chosen AI.

No copying, no explaining, no tab switching.

Supports OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and Mistral.

You bring your own API key, it stays local in your browser, never touches our servers.

Free tier with no daily caps.

I built the whole thing solo. Chrome extension, full SaaS backend, auth, subscriptions, website. Few months of evenings alongside my CS degree.

28 installs already from pure Chrome Store search with zero promotion.

This is my first proper post about it here on IndieHackers.

I'm looking for:

— Brutal product feedback

— Anyone who's felt this exact pain

— Advice from people who've gone from 0 to first paying users

— Anyone who wants to try it free and tell me what's broken
