ProposalShark
Finds Upwork jobs and writes AI proposals for freelancers.
Been working on this for the past few months and finally ready to share it with the IH community.
If you've ever freelanced on Upwork, you know the drill. New job gets posted, 50 people apply within an hour, and by the time you craft a thoughtful proposal, you're applicant #73. The math is brutal - most freelancers need to apply to 20-30 jobs to land a few, and each good proposal takes at least 20 minutes to write.
ProposalShark watches Upwork for you and drafts proposals using AI. Nothing groundbreaking technically. ProposalShark watches Upwork for you and drafts proposals using AI. We built our own specialized AI agent that understands freelance platforms and proposal writing. But it solves a real problem that eats up hours of unbillable time.
The way it works is pretty straightforward. You connect your Upwork profile, it pulls your skills and job history, then monitors new postings for matches. When something fits, you get a notification with a draft proposal. The AI reads the job description and writes something specific to what the client is asking for. You can edit it or rewrite completely, but having that starting point cuts the time from 10 minutes to about 30 seconds.
Launched quietly early this year and have some freelancers using it. Early feedback is that they're applying to way more jobs and actually getting better response rates since they can be among the first to apply.
Using a credit system for pricing - you get 10 free to try it out, then buy more as needed. Keeping it simple for now.
Curious if anyone here has tried building for the freelance market? Seems like there's a lot of pain points but freelancers are also pretty price sensitive.
