Public MCP Registry
The definitive public MCP registry for discovering AI tools
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on something called:
https://publicmcpregistry.com/
It’s a public registry for MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers.
The Problem I Noticed
While experimenting with AI agents, I kept running into the same issue:
There’s no central place to discover MCP tools.
Everything is scattered:
GitHub repos
Docs
Random blog posts
Developers are literally searching:
“mcp registry”
“mcp servers registry list”
“open source mcp registry”
What I Built
A simple platform where you can:
Browse MCP servers
Explore use cases (SEO, automation, dev tools)
Discover open source MCP tools
Why I Think This Matters
If MCP becomes standard, then:
Registries become infrastructure
Discovery becomes critical
Trust becomes a big factor
What I’m Trying to Figure Out
Should this stay fully public or include private registries?
What features would make this actually useful long-term?
Is curation more important than scale?
Would love feedback from anyone building in AI or dev tooling.
