Link tracking was an important feature to me. I'm actively using the tool as I work on my consulting projects. It's important for me to know when a document was opened, how many times, etc. I think I also want to know how much time was spent there.. but that will be a future feature!
I finally got the product to a stage where I was comfortable sharing it with IndieHackers.

It was generally well received. However, 33% of people thought I should get a job instead of continuing to work on the project! Oh well.
I got some great feedback. I decided to continue working, with my next goal being to find my first (non-paying) user.

I was working on a Figma design for a subcontract, and I wanted it to be clear to the client that I was the one working on the project. I'd been sending a lot of Vidyard videos and loved the way you could just quickly record a screencast, grab a link, and send it off to a recipient. I thought it would be great if I could do a similar thing from my website with the Figma designs - just grab the embed code, click the plugin, get a link, and send it off.
With that in mind, I started building.

It started with me just wanting to easily share Figma designs via my website with clients. I thought more about it and came up with lots of great use-cases for a flexible tool like this.
