May 12, 2020 Monthly update

A month has passed and time to retrospect. As planned I finish with selection functionality (except touch), now it's possible to select content using various shortcuts: single/double/triple mouse click, ctrl/cmd+arrow keys, ctrl/cmd+home/end, shift+mouse click, etc. Touch support still in progress. I start working on text aligning functionality and already added most of the required infrastructure changes required for this functionality.

April 13, 2020 Monthly update

Ok, it's time to post an update and review everything I have accomplished for the latest month.

Unicode support improvement. Now possible to manipulate with unicode characters like emojis, arrows, bullets, math symbols (selected font should support such glyph).

Added base support for touch devices. Now possible to entering
text from your phone or tablet!

Improvements for custom selection.

Improved coverage to 76%! Migrated some part of code to ES6 modules. Updated karma runner to load Google Closure modules correctly.

Next steps:

  • complete custom selection functionality (with touch support)
  • add more text formatters like strike text, text background color, text underline, align text, line and paragraphs height
