AI Competitor Monitoring - Track Changes in Plain English
Hey IH community! I wanted to share a quick story about why I’m building PulseAI and get your thoughts.
A good friend of mine works at a mid-sized startup and part of his weekly grind is setting up competitor monitoring: CSS selectors, XPath rules, browser extensions—you name it. He told me it’s the least fun part of his job. “I spend more time tweaking selectors than actually doing anything with the data,” he said, “I wish there was something that just let me say, ‘Hey AI, watch Company X’s pricing page and tell me when the Pro plan changes.’” That moment clicked for me—why should setting up a monitor feel like coding?
So I started building PulseAI: an AI-powered monitoring tool where you literally type what you want in plain English (“Alert me if Company X’s Pro plan goes up or down by more than $5”). No fiddling with selectors, no technical setup—just a natural language sentence and you’re done. It’s still early days (we’re heading into private beta in a couple weeks!), but already I’m seeing how much simpler it can make people’s lives.
I’d love to hear from you:
Have you ever spent hours wrestling with website monitoring tools?
What’s the biggest pain point when you try to keep tabs on competitors?
Would you be up for testing out a natural-language approach?
If this sounds interesting, drop a comment or DM me. I’ll be opening up invites for a free private beta soon and would love to get feedback from fellow founders and marketers here. Thanks for reading, and I’m excited to hear your thoughts!
About
PulseAI was born from a clear and frustrating problem we kept facing: manually checking competitor websites was tedious, unreliable, and a poor use of time.
