PulseChecker

Uptime, cron, and AI agent monitoring

September 7, 2026 Why I built monitoring that watches for silence, not just errors

Most uptime tools only answer half the question. They'll tell you if a URL stops responding, but they have no idea if your nightly backup, cron job, or scheduled task silently stopped running. Nothing errors, it just quietly stops happening.

I built PulseChecker after enough of those incidents to notice the pattern: ping a URL on a schedule like a normal uptime checker, or give a background job a unique check-in URL and get alerted the moment it stops showing up. Recently added the same idea for AI agents, start and finish check-in URLs, so a hung or silently-failed run gets caught too.

Built on Cloudflare Workers with Durable Objects handling the scheduling, so there's no external cron dependency running the checks. Free tier is 10 monitors, 5-minute checks, no card needed.

Would love feedback, especially from anyone who's had something fail silently and not know until it mattered.
