February 10, 2021 First paying customer

We had been scared to ask people to pay for pushupbot. We were afraid they will stop using it. Then on a support call we just mentioned the price and they were sold. This is the first time someone has ever paid us for something we built. It is pretty exciting

December 1, 2020 pushupbot is Mobile

We were afraid of getting stuck on Slack, especially with some kind of exit coming.

We reprogrammed the code to work like an API, then built a React Native app to do some of what the Slack app did.

We launched with only a few users, and it was working great.

October 1, 2020 100 Daily Active Users!

Nelly launched pushupbot on HackerNews and ProductHunt and other places. We even got featured by Slack!

The real story here is that one company installed pushupbot around noon CST and had a big ole drink water competition. They added 30 new people to our metrics in just one hour, which pushed us from 80 DAU to 110!

August 1, 2020 50 Daily Active Users!

We had been fixing problems for people left and right. Tyler was working on the product full time, and building new features every day.

After cleaning up our onboarding, fixing performance issues and plenty of hustle, we finally reached 50 daily users!

April 1, 2020 Polly Sucks! Just Use Rails!

Polly was a weird solution to this problem. You couldn't input custom amounts of pushups. You couldn't do anything other than pushups!

It was time for our engineering skills to rescue us. We built a Rails app talking to the Slack API to send reminders and record activities.

February 1, 2020 Just Use Polly!

Nelly was working with a team on Slack. She wanted to encourage them to do pushups every hour with her. But, the hourglass wouldn't work this time! Why? Because remote work.

Enter Polly. A Slack app to send reminder-like polls. Polly worked just fine for a while.

September 1, 2016 Nelly Bought an Hourglass

Corporate life sucks. Recently a collegiate athlete, Nelly wasn't happy with sitting down all day at her first engineering job.

Her coworker, Rodica, suggested a new hourly routine. They started doing pushups every hour, so Nelly bought an hourglass to remind them when to start.
