January 24, 2026 How I built a private, offline-first hub with 3,000+ tools for DeFi and Engineering

Hey everyone!

I’m a software engineer and a DeFi enthusiast. Like many of you, I live in my browser. But I noticed a frustrating trend: every time I needed a quick Uniswap V3 simulation, a unit conversion, or a bitwise calculator, or file converter, I had to open a site bloated with ads, cookies, and trackers.

I wondered—why does a simple calculator need to track my IP or store 20 cookies?

So, I decided to build qalc.ai.

The Vision: I wanted to create the "Swiss Army Knife" for the modern web3 era. A place where tools are fast, high-precision, and, most importantly, private.

What’s under the hood:

  • 3,000+ tools: I’ve consolidated everything from complex liquidity simulators to basic engineering converters.

  • 100% Client-Side: I’m using PWA technology so that all math happens on your machine. No data ever leaves your device.

  • Offline-Ready: Since it's a PWA, it works without an internet connection once loaded.

  • The "Magic Box": I built an AI-powered search to make finding one tool among thousands feel instant.

Why I’m here: I’m currently in the "build in public" phase. The core is ready, and it's 100% free. I’m looking for feedback from fellow makers:

  1. Is the UX intuitive for such a massive library?

  2. What DeFi or dev-centric tools are you missing in your daily workflow?

  3. What I can improve or do better?

I’m excited to share this journey with the IH community. Let’s make the web a bit more useful and a lot more private!

Congrats on the launch, looks solid. How are you currently thinking about acquiring early users and gathering feedback?

Thanks! I'm focusing on education and community building. Started a Medium publications where we deep-dive into the 'how-it-works' and the tech behind the platform, and launched a dedicated Reddit community for real-time discussions.

Right now, I'm in 'listening mode'—treating every early user as a co-creator. I'm wide open to new ideas and feature requests, as my goal is to build something that solves real-world friction. If you have any thoughts on, I'd love to hear them!

I love the “co-creator” mindset; it’s essential for building strong communities. Since you've launched a dedicated Reddit community, are you also engaging in conversations outside of your own subreddit? That’s often where early traction really takes off.

I assist founders in turning Reddit into both a feedback loop and a consistent user pipeline. If it’s helpful, I’d be happy to share some initial strategies to test for your niche.

About

As a dev and DeFi fan, I was tired of jumping between tabs for Uniswap sims, math, and unit conversions. I built qalc.ai as a private, 100% client-side "Swiss Army Knife". 3,000+ tools, zero trackers, and works offline.
