April 27, 2026 Job seekers shouldn't have to pay $20/month just to download their resume

I wrote a piece recently about how resumes aren't getting rejected by AI. They're just getting buried. Recruiters get hundreds of applications, do a keyword search, and look at the top results. That's it. Most people never get seen at all. (Full piece: https://medium.com/@nsarya14/your-resume-isnt-getting-rejected-by-ai-it-s-getting-lost-in-a-pile-of-thousands-bb0a9005356f)

But while researching that, I kept running into another problem. The tools promising to help you are ripping you off.

Most resume builders let you build everything for free and then lock the download behind a $20/month subscription. You did all the work. They're just holding the file.

That's what I'm trying to fix with Qarera. Free AI resume builder, job tracker, match scoring, keyword gap finder, all without a paywall on your own documents.

Job hunting is already rough. It shouldn't cost $20 just to apply.

Live at qarera.com, would love feedback from anyone who's been through the grind recently.

People searching for jobs are required to pay 20$/month to download their resume and cover letter, this is outrageous and too expensive. We aim to provide affordable and high quality tools for job seekers.
