I know there are a bunch of QR code providers, but you've really nailed it down to the quickest path from file to QR. The fact that your video shows you doing it on a mobile phone gives me the sense that a busy restaurant owner could do it quickly.

How useful do you think this will be now that COVID's mostly over?

Hi @finereli! Thank you for your message and sorry for the late response.

You're right, restaurant owners should be able to put their menu on the fly quickly without much fuss or any social media registration and other faff. However since it's a free service I have limited upload size to 2MB for a single image, maybe for a future version I'll add a paid version for larger sizes.

Since on average a camera snapshot is a little bigger, I'm afraid they might have to find a smaller image! 😨

As far as the applicability goes for post COVID, while Qeenu is targeted towards restaurants, nothing stops anyone from using an item (offering / image / pdf) to be uploaded and sharing it. So it's a general purpose service.

Yeah, absolutely. It makes sense to keep the product itself as flexible as possible. So are you actively looking for users right now or just kinda waiting for them to find you?

Sorry for the delay! I'm not pushing out anything actively besides a set amount using google ads. So they can find Qeenu using google search. But nothing active.

I think, that gives me time to, for example keep adding features overtime and MAYBE (hehe) make a paid version, but I think by that time as you said, world would have moved forward and might no longer need QR Codes (for contactless menus at least).

So regardless, it would be a great test bed to keep a product alive and see how it grows technically.

Gotcha, that makes sense. Sometimes it's more effective to look for customers directly, but that's only important if you plan on making it into a source of income. Sounds like it's way too early for that for you.

April 10, 2022 Shipped V1

Visit https://qeenu.one/, simple QR code service for small business, easy to use, no hassle!

Motivation was to see if I can ship a product end to end, backend, front end and everything else in between, I'm still unsure if this will work or I'll get a paying customer, but it feels good to ship!

About

The main motivation was to be able to build something end to end from scratch that has some real value, plus I thought QR codes are everywhere, so it looked something doable.
