Qwitix
Event Ticketing Platform
This morning, with a $25 purchase of two tickets to a show in May, Qwitix received $1,000 in Gross Ticket Sales. Qwitx takes pride in passing on the vast majority of this money to event creators, taking less than half the fees that comparable services demand.
Qwitix has officially collected > $1 in fees for a small show in August 2021, one that I am fairly confident will proceed as planned. Even as a digital business, I still plan to withdraw a crisp one-dollar bill and frame it to mark the occasion.
I'm very fortunate to have a stable full-time job that pays the bills while Qwitix has taken over a year to earn its first withdrawable dollar. The next goal would be to earn enough money consistently to cover costs for upgraded hosting/database/domain costs.

I just posted the first show on Qwitix, a small concert in May 2021. Most of the tickets were already sold on a different platform for its original, then rescheduled date. Perhaps the show will be canceled, and I would absolutely support whatever is necessary for public health and safety. I still appreciate the opportunity to support the event.
In order to close the deal, I drove over an hour each way to visit the venue. I spent over an hour discussing how the platform works with the event creator, and what he needs to be successful. I already have a feature request - a print guestlist option. I'm much more eager to implement a feature that an event partner explicitly asks for, rather than guessing what features would be useful myself.

My full-time employer furloughed all employees for 2 weeks, so I committed ~50 hours to pushing the scattered codebase I had been hacking away at sporadically for the last year.
I'm not satisfied with the current state- there are so many more features to add and processes to automate. But I am proud of it, even if I barely trust it ;)
I am convinced the base functionality I have implemented has value, and I'm currently willing to provide that functionality to event creators at a significantly lower cost than comparable services. Therefore, I am shifting my focus to acquiring that first event partner much more than improving the code. Events are currently impossible due to the pandemic, but I am optimistic that the forced break will make creators more open to switching platforms... maybe?
