RampNerd
parametric 3D mini ramp designer / planner
I’ve been working on RampNerd, a parametric design tool for skaters to create custom ramps online.
It runs in WebGL and uses a fully dynamic mesh system to generate side panels, cut sheets, and a BOM in real time. As you tweak dimensions (height, radius, flat bottom, platform sizes, etc.), the tool recalculates everything on the fly, including coping placement with precise reveal tolerances. Even pro ramp builders often struggle with this part.
But RampNerd isn’t just about CNC and precision. It’s about empowerment: giving anyone the tools to design and build a ramp, no matter their technical or carpentry skills. Whether you want to use standard plywood or recuperated materials, you can design freely and get accurate plans.
It’s also about freedom and reducing waste and unneserassy trips to the hardware store.
Accurate BOMs mean you only buy what you need. Plans work for CNC or for cutting sheets manually with a jigsaw or track saw.
Would love feedback from fellow builders, especially if you’ve worked with parametric geometry, WebGL, or 3D configurators before.
About
Building a mini ramp is harder than it should be. I RampNerd designs ramps in 3D, calculates materials, creates a BOM, and generates CNC plans — no guesswork, just build.
