AI-Powered SEO Content for Trades Businesses
Building RankinSEO (AI-powered SEO content for trades businesses) has been mostly the fun kind of hard — pipelines, content generation, dashboards. But the last month has taught me that for a solo founder in Pakistan, actually getting paid can be a bigger blocker than building the product.
Quick rundown of what happened:
Payoneer, my original planned payout method, was permanently closed and unrecoverable.
Set up Paddle as merchant of record (Stripe isn't available here). Configured a 14-day trial, fixed pricing copy, got checkout working in sandbox.
Went live — checkout failed. No payout account configured.
Started the payout setup process. Tried Elevate Pay first — approved my documents, then came back asking for more proof of address/work. Dropped it.
Opened a new bank account (MCB), got IBAN/SWIFT details into Paddle's payout settings. Checkout still failed — turned out account verification (separate from payout settings) hadn't been started.
Then the bank account itself hit a wall: an old collections issue from years back put it on hold.
Ended up setting up nsave (USD/GBP account from Pakistan, no US entity needed) as a parallel payout method while sorting the bank mess out.
Meanwhile, Paddle flagged my account category as "Advertising and Marketing" instead of "AI/SaaS" and blocked checkout entirely — appeal submitted, waiting on their review.
Nothing about this was a technical problem. It was entirely payments infrastructure not built with Pakistan-based founders in mind. If you're building from here (or anywhere outside the usual Stripe-friendly countries), plan for this to take real time — weeks, not days.
Still not fully resolved, but posting this now rather than waiting for a clean "we made it" ending, because I think the messy middle is more useful to anyone else about to hit the same wall.

I'm building RankinSEO to help small trades businesses — roofers, solar installers, plumbers — get found online without paying agency prices or juggling tools they don't have time to learn. Most of these businesses don't
