We just launched the PRICE MONITORING feature.
How does it work?
- You install RatePunk if you didn't have it before (but I really hope you did).
- You go to booking.com (we'll be adding other OTAs with time).
- RatePunk browser extension pops up, and together with the rate score & price comparison, you see a new button saying ACTIVATE PRICE TRACKING.
- After clicking it, RatePunk starts tracking THAT HOTEL PRICE & sending you updates about the price changes to your email.
A few additional things:
- You can also find the hotel in your dashboard after logging in to your RatePunk account.
- You're informed every time the price increases or drops more than 2% of the primary hotel price.
- If you don't have a RatePunk account (YET!), you'll be requested to fill in your email to get the notifications. However, you won't have access to the dashboard where you can track all of the monitored hotels. I'm just saying it's cooler with an account 🤷♀️.
- The tracking is stopped automatically after the check-out date, so you're not being spammed after it's no longer relevant for you.
Our users already had access to the REBOOKING function. It tracks the price changes after the booking is already confirmed, so the user can rebook it if the rate drops after.
The prices change constantly, and there could be no better price guarantee: you get to track the price BEFORE & AFTER making the booking.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

How does it work there? The principle is identical to the original extension: on the Airbnb website, users choose the destination and dates, and the extension pops up after clicking on the wanted option.
THE MAIN BENEFITS OF IT:
✅ Users find the exact property match just for a lower price. Most often, the stays on Airbnb are also listed on other OTAs, and the price is lower just as often. That's because of the hidden fees (like cleaning, for example) that are a part of the Airbnb price. OTAs don't have them.
✅ Getting a list of alternatives. The truth is that hotels often offer more comfort and reassurance rather than personally owned & self-serviced Airbnb properties. Maybe you can get similar amenities for the same price, just with room service included?

And today, we finally got the feature of REBOOKING active! 2023 will be our year of becoming the ULTIMATE travel tool you’ll JUST HAVE to use, count on me. Starting as a free browser extension showing the cheapest hotel deal, we're moving with a free rewards program & free... rebooking option!
This one already has a simple example in the flight industry. If you’re using Google Flights, you must know it has this option to track the price of a specific flight and inform you about the changes by sending updates straight to your inbox. With RatePunk, the main difference is that you’ll have this option after confirming your hotel booking. A notification pops up on the success page offering you the option of receiving an update if the price decreases, letting you cancel that booking then & rebook with the lower price.
This option is not available on non-refundable bookings (because the user can’t cancel the primary booking without losing the money), so RatePunk doesn't pop up after confirming that kind of deal.

It’s no secret that our main goal with it is turning our free price-comparing browser extension into an ULTIMATE TRAVEL APP, and we just took one more step forward it.
We're more than excited to present you our FREE REWARDS PROGRAM. From now on, RatePunk is not only a hotel price comparing browser extension. Now, our users can create a personal RatePunk CASHBACK account, and earn money by... spending it on hotels.
RatePunk CASHBACK lets them earn reward points towards cashback on eligible hotel bookings. After booking by participating providers with the RatePunk browser extension, our users get a chance to earn points on their purchases.
Every time our users book with Cashback activated, we award them with RatePunk coins. The amount they receive depends on the complete booking value.
Every user will get 10 free coins just for joining the RatePunk cashback: 5 for creating an account and another 5 for activating it. When a benchmark of 100 coins is reached, the $10 cashback can be redeemed.

We believe that a happy team is the main reason for a successful product. Together with our new HR manager, we got new tasks to improve our work environment.
