Crossed 5,000 users after 2 weeks

After 2 weeks since the official launch, Reader Mode has now crossed 5,000 users! I'm so excited to see this baby of mine grow :D

All user acquisitions were done without paid advertising whatsoever and came from all the articles and places that Reader Mode has been featured on.

My next milestone is to get to 10,000 users 😊

Congrats! Great idea and beautiful site. I didn't even know I needed this and now I do :)

Thank you!! I'm so glad that you found it then :)))

Nice!! How did you get those users to tweet about you? Just looked at your Landing Page and nicely done. Care to share your strategy?

    1. 2

Thanks!! They just organically tweet about it. But if I can share one thing, when I launched on Product Hunt, I tweeted that "3 random people who RT will get the PRO version for FREE". You can refer to my original tweet here: https://twitter.com/ryzalyusoff/status/1195613015837687808

And also, when I first launched, I asked some friends for their shoutout/feedback/tweet and I put those tweets there on the landing page. So I guess, when others look at those tweets, they more incline to tweet about it themselves too. Hope this helps :)

Well deserved congrats. Any insights on paid vs free users if you don’t mind sharing?

    1. 1

Thank you! Yeah sure, There's around 200+ paid users and 5000+ free users right now :)

Congrats! Awesome achievement and best of luck on getting to 10,000 users.

One challenge, could be entirely on me, but is Reader Mode standalone software or a Google Chrome extension? Or both? Nothing on the site makes this clear. I hate to sound like a stupid Gen-X'er, but the only way I even got to "it's a Google Chrome extension" is thanks to the testimonials at the bottom of the site.

    1. 1

      Thanks man! Appreciate it πŸ€—

And ah, no worries that could be my fault instead. I didn't specifically put "it's a Google Chrome extension", as I'm planning to build a web app around it and also build it for other browsers as well. But yeah I agree, I should think of a way to make this clearer to others. Thanks for pointing it out! :))

    That's really great.

More people will soon join as the idea is very unique and readers are increasing.

    Awesome milestone.

Did you track which places you were featured brought in the subscribers? Any insights to share?

    1. 2

Yes definitely. Large number of users came from Product Hunt, Softpedia, Lifehackers, DailyTekk channel, MorningBrew and ZDNET. And some other users came from other publications. You can see all the news that Reader Mode has been featured on here: https://readermode.io/news

  14. 1

That is super cool, how did you get on those articles?

    1. 1

Thank you! It all started when Reader Mode was launched and became the first product of the day on Product Hunt. From there, all the publications just started writing about it.

That's great! Are you willing to share revenue numbers?

Also, what made you choose a one-time payment versus a subscription?
