Readshack

For those who can't get enough stuff to read and learn.

My new side project, Readshack, has a Website!

I wanted to build it with GatsbyJS, so I had to find a full day to learn it and tackle this. And finally, I made it, the first version.

I thought a lot about how to present and explain it. I already got feedback on the “content” (« is it for book or else? ») so I clarified it.

I didn't set up an analytics tracker. Vanity metrics don't worth the GDPR cookies banner... Nonetheless, I did take time to have a proper Privacy Policy right from the start because that's important to me.

Now I have to write the Manifesto that will state the why and the ethics of the service. And that too is important to me! 😌

You can register for an invitation if you want and pre-book a @nickname 😉

Oh god, I hit the "Save" button and now I want to have stats. I must resist!

Nice job with the website! Where do you hosted it?

Thanks. I have a dedicated server with Online (https://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server) as I need to host my backend (I learnt Ansible for the occasion).

I hesitated to simply put the website on Netlify, maybe I’ll move it because the auto build and deploy on commit is neat.

That was for the Website only 😇

For the app, I will track things (on the backend side).

About

I do read a lot to learn and pass time in commute. Hard to have a proper read-later list, always find new great Web content and share the great ones. So I build Readshack to discover, read, read later and share.
