Manage your Libby, Apple Book, and Kindle highlights

April 1, 2022 I'm working on re-shaping peoples' reading experience

I recently found myself reading a lot of (e)books. As an avid highlighter I will highlight anything that I find interesting, want to try to use in my day-to-day life, or might want to reflect on later.

As anyone who makes highlights will surely tell you, most of the time they will never revisit their highlights, even though they would like to. It's not their fault. It takes deliberate effort to go into your ebook app, open the book, wait for the book to load, and then click through each highlight.

This is so much hassle that even the thought of doing that makes most people anxious.

Then there's the question of what if you use multiple apps? Many people who use a Kindle device will also use Libby to borrow books from their library. What if you use an iPad or an iPhone? You've got Kindle, Apple Books, and Libby. Now you've got 3 apps, each of which deal with highlights differently.

This is why I'm building ReadShape. A platform where users can gather their Libby, Apple Book, and Kindle highlights.

The goal is to create a platform which helps users retain the information about books, lets users organize their highlights, search them, share their highlights with their book friends, and suggests other books to read.
