February 25, 2021 Built a Speed Test

Today I built out a speed test page to encourage users to test their internet connection on RealSpeeds website. In addition to hopefully giving users a good idea of their current internet connection speed, the speed test data goes directly into the measurement lab dataset enabling more accurate data on the city pages.

You can find it at https://realspeeds.com/speedtest

About

RealSpeeds came out of frustration with the lack of transparency that ISPs operate with. It's hard to know what you are actually going to pay, and if you are actually going to get the speeds you pay for.
