I always had some excuses ready to not cook. "I don't know what to cook" was a common one.

I noticed that I could lower the barrier to cooking by collecting a list of recipes that I actually know.

It started with a simple list containing a few recipes. New recipes were added when I was feeling adventurous. Old recipes were cooked when I was feeling lazy.

This list was basically the first version of RecipeHero. That's when I started thinking about an online platform where everyone can build their own recipe collection.
