On-demand Podcast Production Teams
So I've been working on REP in my spare time for a couple months now. I've tried running some social ads and a few people (several from the IH community!) approached me with interesting opportunities that seem to be helping slowly but surely!
Looking forward to doing a few in-person workshops and webinars in the near future, maybe I can leverage those to further build my list?
Found out this morning that two of my clients were nominated for YouTube's Best Podcast Streamy awards.
I think this is true testament to the fast changing & ever-growing podcast industry.
This makes me super excited for the future of podcasting!

I told my story, of how I got into podcasting and working with chart-topping shows, in scripted narrative format with pull-clips, music, and sound effects!
So far the show has gotten 170 total downloads and this episode in particular was super fun & rewarding to produce.
If you're interested in learning how to podcast check out Record Edit Podcast on your player of choice :)

Record Edit Podcast Episode #001 with Courtland was awesome and I'm happy to be launching with it. Believe it or not, we didn't even talk about coding...we talked about the Indie Hackers Podcast!
We went in depth on how & why he started it, what it took to grow to 40,000 downloads/episode, overcoming the common anxieties podcasters face, and how we first started working together producing the show!

Enjoyed the podcast! It felt like a good companion to the @JeffMeyerson Indie Hackers episode. I had no idea the IH podcast was started with the SE Daily playbook.
It was cool to get a glimpse at your story too. It’s amazing how cold emails work out sometimes.

Thanks so much taking the time to listen! What would you like to hear more of in future episodes?

Actionable items about building a show like:
- Strategies for editing, mixing, leveling
- Creating good intros and outros
- How to take care of the above on a budget (Auphonic? Other tools or services?)
- How to vet and book guests
- Coming up with good questions
- Balancing planned questions vs letting the conversation drift
- Taking notes to track conversation flow
- Building an audience
- Getting feedback
- Reviewing past shows and identifying ways to improve
Getting into the guests background, motivation, and worries is great too. Still wondering what shows @csallen is watching 😉

It was a direct sale with a small stroke of luck.
Just so happens someone in one of the podcast production Facebook groups I frequent was looking for a course on behalf of their editor.
With a public comment & series of private DM's, I was able to convince him my course would help...
Next thing I know, I wake up the following morning to the PayPal notification!
Sweet, sweet passive income lol
Obviously not the most efficient or scalable way for me to make sales (considering I really am currently a full-time Podcast Producer) but hey,
I MADE MY FIRST SALE!! :)

After a year of full-time podcast producing & engineering, I have compiled the exact strategies I've been using 8+hrs a day for almost 3 years into one direct, to the point, 0 fluff, info product to show you how to record and edit podcasts like a true industry professional - not just some businessman who happens to have a podcast.

So after roughly a full year of part-time freelancing online I was able to land my first full-time job with a podcast network & production/advertising agency: Kast Media.
I was offered a position where I would be their lead engineer and help build the Hollywood studio from the ground up, since I've risen the ranks & have become their top podcast producer for multiple chart-topping podcast shows.
When I first started I didn't even have Internet at home. I was using mobile data off of my cell phone to download/upload client files.
I grew up with a musical parent so I thought I was going to be a hotshot music producer but early January I got 2 jobs online - 1 to produce a Christmas song, the other to put together a podcast intro.
Both were $100 contracts, 1 took me 10hrs to do, the other 1hr.
I haven't looked back since.

Podcasts are great, but most podcasters are business owners - so why would you edit & manage your own show?
