May 22, 2020 Launched a proper Dashboard

Two months after our official launch we finally equipped Refiner with a proper Dashboard. A feature that most people would consider table stakes for a survey tool and expect to be included from the very beginning.

One might argue that a survey software without fancy Pie-Charts is not delivering much value. And usually I would agree.

In fact, we knew that to prove that we are onto something, we needed only a handful of features working together:

  • A JavaScript client to launch beautiful Micro-Surveys
  • An intuitive editor allowing you to quickly create said surveys
  • A Zapier integration or a Webhooks feature to push collected data to third party-tools

Fancy stats were just not on the list of crucial features so far.

March 9, 2020 Launched on Product Hunt

After three months of intense product work I launched Refiner on Product Hunt.

The launch went really good and Refiner ended up on #4 with 448 upvotes. I can attribute 1200 page visits and approximately 100 account creations to the launch. Most importantly, it sparked some really interesting discussions and connections.

December 2019 Decided to pivot from another product idea

At the end of 2019 I decided to pivot from another product i was working on.

I've spent the better part of 2019 working on solving "Lead Scoring for B2B SaaS". But without success. I created a quite complex product which didn't add much value though. So obviously I had a hard time finding customers.

At the end of 2019 I realized that I got derailed on the way and that it's time to start over.

Funnily enough, the Refiner of today is very close to what I initially had in mind when starting out.
