I am AR Nayak. I am based in India, have been in digital marketing for 19 years, and I run Indscope Digital alongside building ReframeX.

ReframeX is an AI portrait video engine. The single thing it does — and does very well — is take landscape (16:9) videos and convert them to portrait (9:16) automatically using AI subject tracking.

Why I Built It

I train marketers. I watch what they struggle with. The pattern I saw consistently: people had great long-form content — webinars, interviews, YouTube videos — and they were losing out on Reels and Shorts because converting landscape to portrait manually was too slow.

The tools that existed were either too generic (basic resize with black bars) or required manual keyframing that was just as time-consuming as editing from scratch.

So we built subject tracking that does the crop work automatically. You upload a video. The AI detects the speaker or main subject. It keeps them centred in the 9:16 frame throughout — even as they move.

What Surprised Us About the Market

The news and media segment was bigger than we expected. Newsrooms publishing short clips to social from their broadcast footage are some of our highest-volume users. They cannot afford to have an editor keyframe every clip from the evening broadcast — they need something that works automatically in minutes.

Sports teams were another surprise. Instant highlight reels from a live match — converted to portrait for Reels — is a workflow they adopted faster than almost any other segment.

Where We Are Now

4M+ creators on the platform. 3M+ videos processed. The accuracy benchmark we are at — 99.2% subject tracking — is the number we are most proud of. For the majority of content types, no manual review is needed after the AI conversion.

What I Would Do Differently

I would have launched the Product Hunt page earlier. And I would have built the developer API documentation earlier — the technical audience has been one of the strongest channels for adoption.
