June 2, 2020 First Paid Client

So, today we got the first paid client. I've been busy with other things so I've neglected this project. But this may be the thing needed to get me started again on promoting this more.

In total it has more than 170 freemium users. Also everything is ruining smoothly, I didn't had to release an update in a long time, now that I think about it, I think I've lunched it too late as after lunch only a few small changes were needed.

💪 an awesome way to get you back into a project. Congrats, man!

Definitely, this still won't cover my server costs but it's a start.
      Thank you! :)

Congratulations. Listen to what your users want and you'll get many more.

Thank you! :) Yeah, I'm trying to listen to my users, but they usually don't offer any feedback.

Getting feedback can be hard. I use hotjar in page survey and book calls with some to make more questions and listen to their pains.

Congrats! Getting your first customer/sale is one of the best feelings in business.

Nice job! It looks like your product solves a real problem.

Does having YT or Tube in the name violate anything? I found the name a little difficult to understand.

    1. 1

Not sure, I don't think it does.

However, I've made the name like this to be able to scale it further if we get customers.
My plan is to start with videos rank tracking and then extend it to websites too, but starting directly with websites would be hard as there are 1000s of solutions here.

January 17, 2020 110 Freemium users - 0 paid

I haven't added an update for a long time, but I did some work in the mean time, I've built a tool to get the emails from YouTube accounts that commented on specific videos related to video seo. I've tried a few email types, and one stood out with around 30-40% open rate and around 10% response rate, which is pretty good.

Still I wasn't able to even convert any of these users to paid users, this is why I've stopped developing the product and I'm trying to invest all my time allocated to this project for marketing and sales.

The only update that I've done in the last few week was:

  • Auto login after a user creates an account. (After seeing so many users struggling with the login after they create the account)
  • Changed some buttons text, in order to make them easier to understand.

November 24, 2019 Posted a YouTube video - Feedback?

So today I've premiered the first video presentation of RegiRank, if you have 1 minute, you can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBYidcGScms and post your feedback.

I decided to schedule this video yesterday, in order to gain some visibility on Google and Youtube, but it didn't work out as expected in the end.

November 13, 2019 +60 free users, still no paying users

I was working on other things and I didn't had that much time to focust on getting more people to the platform.
The only thing I did in the mean time is keep sending cold emails, I didn't got as many responses as it's becoming harder to get high targeted emails, from these users I got a few to sign up, but they decided it isn't the right fit for them.

About a week ago we've setup a Facebook ads campaign and adwords campagins. It isn't worth taking about the adword one as that was a very bad one.

When it comes to the facebook one, we got a lot of clicks, some sign ups, but no one has decided to get the full version yet. We'll keep trying using fb ads and starting to send more targeted cold emails with a better copy now.

September 25, 2019 Cold emailing: 60% open rate and 20% response rate

Today was a very productive day and I started to test cold emailing on a small scale, I've sent only 10 emails so far, just to test things our before I start automating.
So far I got

  • 2 responses
  • 6 people opened their emails.

After the 2 responses:

  • With one person we've exchanged a few messages, and he seems to be interested in our product.
  • From the second person I got their Skype ID and I'm waiting for their response.

Other things I managed to do:

  • I fixed some small bugs
  • Made it faster by upgrading the server and running more threads.

September 22, 2019 MVP is ready

MVP for RegiRank is ready, there are probably a few bugs and I will find them in the following days before I will start promoting it.
It was a pretty long journey, it took more then expected but finally this is ready, let's see what our early adopters will have to say about it.

looks interesting, good luck with your venture. How did you check if there is a demand for such kind of a product/service?

    1. 1

Being in the industry for a while, not much as a youtuber, mostly as someone who try to optimize YouTube videos and rank them. Also, I had something similar in the past, that ended up failing as it was a partnership that didn't work out.
However, I still find it hard to close people, they seem very interested when they see it, tell me their needs and usually it's a fit for what the saas is solving, but after more messages exchanged they end up ignoring my emails. I guess the problem the saas is solving isn't a very urgent one and people focus on other things and forget about it...

About

Based on a previous product I've made in the past, there is a demand for this kind of product, and I am here to offer a solution.
