Rekognito
Privacy-friendly user recognition for your website
Hey, fellow indies! 👋
I have been building a SaaS business for 6 years now.
At one moment I wanted to know more about the people who sign up every day. There are hundreds of new users creating an account each day.
So I did a search in the database. And what I saw was that a lot of them are registered using Gmail or other email provider domains.
But there was also a bunch of them using custom business domains.
So the first thought was that this is a great segment who I should reach out to as they are potentially a B2B customer.
So I put together a quick script where I can use an email list as input and the output will filter out all emails with email provider domains.
The next thing I thought was that if this is helpful for me then it might be helpful to other creators as well who have an email list.
As I am already into SaaS for the last few years I thought that I can try to create a SaaS business out of it, providing a service to others who need to automate the process of recognizing their customer base.
I have almost the same feeling when starting my first SaaS business so I am really excited to see where I can go with this :)
Cheers!
Jaan
About
I have a very specific problem at my full-time SaaS business that I want to solve with Rekognito. To get automated insights about the B2B users who sign up for my website.

That’s such an interesting observation — separating Gmail users from business domains is a smart way to identify B2B potential. I had a similar “aha moment” while testing small tweaks in my own projects. Funny enough, even when experimenting with Jenny Mod
for Minecraft, I realized how just identifying the right group of users (or players) can completely change the strategy. Love how you turned data into insight here!
sounds interesting, but I would recommend starting with an MVP or a poll to check if your need can be a need for other people.
For example, many saas are using facebook/google login, it's just a more effortless flow, so in that case, many emails will be gmail/outlook.
Also, for many saas owners that know how to dev, it can be done with one query.
Good luck
Thank you Tim for the feedback.
Yes, an MVP has been on top of my mind.
I thought to take it to a little bit more extreme and start out with a landing page and try to collect some emails who are potentially interested in the idea.
Then reach out to each one of them manually and go into a conversation to understand them better.
That way I could build the best first features possible.
Any thoughts on this?
for me, it's best, to talk with leads/future clients. in twitter or on indiehackers, you'll find many saas owners, it's a good starting point
Thx! ;)
