RenovateIndex
Renovation cost estimates for Canadian homeowners, by city
I built RenovateIndex.ca — a data tool that gives Canadian homeowners city-specific renovation cost estimates adjusted for provincial labour rates using Statistics Canada BCPI data.
The problem: every renovation cost guide online is either American or uses flat national averages. A Calgary homeowner getting a roofing quote has no reliable Canadian reference point.
Where it's at after 6 weeks:
113 pages indexed out of 1,200+ crawled
3K weekly impressions, up from zero in mid-March
Ranking for city-specific queries like "roof replacement cost calgary" and "kitchen renovation cost toronto"
Average position 33 — not on page 1 yet but moving
What's next: Backlink building and more blog content to push average position from 33 toward page 1.
Happy to answer questions from anyone building in the Canadian market.
