May 2020 Over 20,000 Repos Deleted

When Repo Remover launched, I searched for places where people were looking for help with deleting multiple GitHub repos. This included a few Medium posts, some GitHub gists, and most importantly a Quora post.

I dropped a comment on the Quora post (later improved with visuals) and since then it has consistently sent daily traffic to the site. Likewise the Medium posts and Gist I commented on continue to forward traffic as they are all top results when searching for "how to delete multiple GitHub repos".

Though traffic hasn't grown much, over the past year Repo Remover has continued to be used by developers and recent surpassed over 20,000 delete repos. The true number should be even higher as I only started counting the number of repos deleted several months after it first launched.

Sent out a tweet mentioning all the services I used to built Repo Remover and this eventually caught the attention of someone with thousands of followers.

They tweeted about Repo Remove and this meant I had several thousand impressions on the tweet. This turned into a few hundred visitors to the website over a few days.

About

I wanted a faster/easier way to do some Spring cleaning of my GitHub repos. I was shocked that most suggestions used the command line, and when I found nothing better, I decided it was a good learning opportunity.
