November 17, 2018 Basic auth support

I was checking app store reviews and realized that basic auth was a common request so I built it :)

November 17, 2018 Tested pricing changes

Tried $1, $2 and $3, for one week each.
I didn't see any significant indication that pricing changes improved buying. Volume is very low so is difficult to know.

I'll probably switch to freemium at some point. Better to help people and show value fast and make the transition a no-brainer.

November 17, 2018 Better UI, cancellable requests and a few fixes

When I first started building this app 3.5 years ago, I optimized the codebase to get it done fast, but as soon as I wanted to add a small feature or fix a bug, I ended up wasting more time than necessary.
So ended up refactoring it all, rebuild the UI in a more manageable way to easily add more features. It helped me add:

  • Cancellable requests
  • Requests stopwatch
  • Fix old layout issues
  • (internal) Dropped old libraries and messy storyboards

I'm excited to add Basic auth support soon now that the codebase is more manageable 😄

October 24, 2018 Woohoo got my first sale

The first $2 from this project. I hope the keywords change I made in the App store a few days ago helped achieve this sale.

October 23, 2018 Public feature and bug tracking

Added a Trello board to keep track of requested features and important bug reports. I hope this could help RESTer get the most important features based by using a vote system: https://trello.com/b/TVwE1MDz/rester

October 18, 2018 Backup feature

I'm currently evaluating the best way to provide backup support for the app. At the moment the requests are deleted with the app which isn't the best experience for users. Some requests are hard to create, and it would be great to have them until they are deleted on purpose. CloudKit seems to be a good choice.

October 18, 2018 Clone support

A few days ago I was checking some old reviews and realized that some of them were very valuable so I decided to implement one of them.

October 18, 2018 Restarted the project

After 3 years without new versions I restarted this project this month and plan to improve it over time. I'm excited to see how it evolves into something useful to developers.

About

I needed a simple tool to quickly test HTTP requests from my iPhone and introspect the results. I didn't like the options and decided I wanted to build one from scratch.
