ResumeCheck
ATS resume scanner and AI writing detector
Built cover letter generation into ResumeCheck this week. The problem I was trying to solve: someone fixes their resume based on the ATS and AI risk scores, then writes a cover letter that immediately flags as AI-written and undoes all their work.
Now you paste your resume and job description, click generate, and it writes a cover letter tailored to that specific job. Then it runs the letter through our own AI detection algorithm. If it scores above 40 out of 100, it rewrites automatically until it passes. The whole loop runs server-side before you ever see the result.
Also fixed a JSON truncation bug this week that was causing scans to fail on longer resumes. Bumped the output token limit to 8192 which is the model ceiling.
Cover letters are included in the $12/mo plan. First scan is still free at myresumecheck.com.
Shipped it in a few days. You paste your resume and a job description, it gives you two scores:
1. ATS compatibility (0-100) with specific missing keywords and formatting fixes
2. AI writing risk (0-100) with flagged phrases and a one-click rewrite to sound more human
First scan is free with email verification. After that it's $4/scan or $12/month for up to 100 scans.
Built with Next.js, Claude API, Stripe, and Upstash Redis. Deployed on Vercel.
Already getting visitors from Reddit. No paying customers yet but the free scans are working and the email gate is converting.
Would love feedback from anyone who has launched something similar, especially on pricing and whether the email gate is too much friction upfront.

Most resume tools give you a generic score and call it done. I wanted something that tells you exactly what to fix.
