August 29, 2026 Wasting 12 years as an employee, to shipping a trading workstation — introducing R.I.P

Hey Indie Hackers,

I’m am Mr.Brightside the founder of R.I.P (Retail Intelligence Protocol). This is a first post: who I am, what I’m building, and why.

Who I am

I spent 12 years employed in the same profession. Same industry logic, same ceilings, same “maybe next year.” A few weeks ago I put in my notice. 1 more week in corporate hell and I'm free. I’m using that window to go all-in as founder and operator of my own company — not as a side project, as the main path.

I’m a trader and a builder. I got tired of stitching together half a dozen tools just to see the market clearly and act without friction. So I stopped waiting for the incumbents to fix it.

What R.I.P is

A Windows-native trading workstation for people who actually trade: analysis, charting, order flow / liquidity context, quant-style planning, and execution against your own broker — designed so the heavy work stays on your machine.

We’re not a broker. We’re not a fund manager. We’re not selling “signals that print money.” Phase one is a serious desktop product: manual trading + deep analysis + data layers, with a clear path for people who bring their own logic later. Privacy and local control are intentional, not marketing gloss.

There’s a Hub for identity, updates, and install; the workstation is the desk. Founder seats and pre-sales are opening as we harden for a staged rollout.

Why FinTech

Retail trading software calcified. You pay for charts in one place, execution in another, flow data in a third, and still lose the entry while you tab-switch. The stack I wanted didn’t exist at a price and architecture that respected the user. So we’re building it — with the bias of people who sit in front of markets, not only pitch decks.

Where we are

Late MVP / closed testing. Core desk works. Distribution and legal posture are being tightened for pre-sales. I’m here to build in public the way this community respects: honest stage, real product, no fake traction screenshots.

If you trade, build trading tools, or have been burned by Frankenstein subscriptions, I’d like your critique as much as your support.

Happy to answer questions — architecture, positioning, or the employee → founder jump.

The “Frankenstein subscriptions” problem is a strong wedge.

Curious whether early traders respond more to having everything in one workstation, or to the local-control/privacy angle as the reason to switch.

About

Fintech and retail trading is in a state of 911. Information is fregmented, execution is slow, tools are unreliable.. I decided to change that, and bring fresh blood into the industry.
