August 16, 2023 Progress after a month!

Its been more than a two months that I have started this product. This has been going really good so far. I have few things to share with the community from the last post. I am not charging the users yet, so there is no MRR/ARR stuff yet but I would like to show the progress of the app itself and the user base.

Product enhancements

  1. A better home screen
  2. Multi device support with end 2 end encryption
  3. Themes + Google fonts
  4. Organize the notes by tags
  5. Handy "/" command
  6. LaTeX style math support
  7. Enhanced lists - collapsible, nested
  8. Quick share the notes
  9. Connected tree graph view of your linked notes
  10. Better todo experience with different type of checkboxes
  11. Markdown tables support

Users

  • ~700 unique users for both June and July months
  • There are at least 15 users who use the app regularly (once a week at minimum)
  • Have given out access to multi-device sync to 20 members so far
  • Few of the users are okay to pay for the product :)
  • ~42% conversion from landing page to app

Next plans

  • Better landing page
  • Better tools for writing different forms of notes eg. for academics, research, productivity, writing books etc.
  • More plugins for conversions/publishing of the notes

Excited about the future :) Cheer!

June 24, 2023 Creating Indiehacker page

Its been more than a month now since I started working on this product. Started with a simple note taking page to a full blown note taking and journal web app. Only after exploring the space of writing and note taking apps, I learned that there are so many apps already and apps like Obsidian, Roam Research are ruling the space already.

The slight ray of hope is that there are no great options for web. There are apps but they have not spread as much as the native apps because of the limitations like, e2e encryption, multi device support, and the pricing. I am trying to target these points to get users for my app.

Here are few features that stand out

  • Multi-device sync support
  • Completely end to end encryption
  • Full markdown support
  • Drag and drop images
  • Export, share, search
  • Calendar view
  • Dedicated journaling space
  • Reminders
  • Code blocks
  • Linked notes

I have few more ideas to make the note taking and journaling experience a breeze even for new comers in the space. Looking forward!

I write my thoughts every now and then. There was no simple tool to just let me write without distractions. All options are costly, iOS specific apps. I am trying to break this and bring an amazing experience on web
