June 30, 2020 Apple App Store and Google Play Store Launch

After six months of hard work, rhizo launched on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Since day one, our goal has been to launch the same app, with identical features on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store to maximize our reach. Here we are!

Congratulations! Maintaining feature parity can be tricky, so well done for sticking with it for 6 months. Did you code both apps yourself? If so, did you have a favourite platform, or did you use a framework which produced both apps?

You’ve got your work cut out on your App Store listing- even searching by your fairly unique name, you were in 6th place on the uk store. That should change as more people search for your app by name.

The Apple guidelines recommend screenshots only in the listing, but most people add marketing images- your screenshot of the register form isn’t going to tell me what the app does or why I should download it. I’d start with some of the content from your site, and make the mobile screenshots larger.

In app, I noticed the category search and show more buttons weren’t really working, although that may partially be because I’m in the uk.

Anyways, sorry for the large dump of feedback, congratulations again. YOU DID IT- YOU LAUNCHED!

Thanks for the all the suggestions and insights! To answer your question about the framework, we used an isomorphic framework (RN) to make sure that the app worked on both platforms.
