Carpooling for events, activities, and trips
After exploring the carpooling space. There are four main services for carpooling (Commute, activity, event, or trip). I have added two more categories to ridekarma to test user's interest, market supply and demand.
Now on our homepage, you will have three carpooling options to explore:
- Events - Carpooling for events (music, conference, exhibition, sports...)
- Activities - Carpooling for activities (like hiking, kayaking, beach...)
- Trips - Carpooling for trips ( long-distance travelers, city to city trips)
Building a multi-sided marketplace is one of the biggest challenges to build ridekarma (a carpool service for events). We are working with three types of users Event hosts, riders and drivers. Each user type has a different user acquisition strategy.
This week we developed our integration with Eventbrite. Now event hosts can import their events in a sec, and start offering carpool service immediately. Also, they will able to send carpool invitations to all event attendees by one click.

Two years ago I started a new networking strategy for events. It was hard for an introvert like me to network one-on-one at them, especially when new to a community.
Then I started offering rides to other event attendees. To or from the event, I was surprised by how many connections I made and how many deeper conversations I had.
This strategy of carpooling to events inspired me to start working on Ride Karma (https://ridekarma.co), a carpooling-for-events platform that helps people connect before and after events via rides together. The app is currently in beta testing.
One of the major advantages of using Ride Karma is the possibility of having deeper, higher-quality communication with people. It may also help participants get introduced to new people faster and better than other networking techniques. Furthermore, carpooling will help reduce event-goers’ carbon footprint, reduce traffic, and help carpoolers save on event travel costs.
