Revolutionizing Your Dating Profile: rizzer.ai

So, here's the deal. I've spent countless hours swiping left and right on dating apps, and it's got me thinking. You know how when you're swiping, that first photo can make or break your decision? Well, I've been there too, on the receiving end. Despite being a fairly decent-looking dude, I realized that the photos I was putting up on these apps were, well, let's just say they could use some help.

You see, I'm not exactly friends with a ton of professional photographers and my selfies aren't exactly award-winning material. Not to mention, the great outdoors, with its unpredictable lighting and all, isn't exactly my friend when it comes to taking good shots. I thought to myself, there's got to be a better way to do this.

That's when rizzer.ai came to life. I thought, why not use the power of AI to level the playing field? With AI, we can take the art of profile photo creation from a few privileged ones with a knack for photography to everyone. It's about time we made dating app experiences better for everyone, right?

So, I am working on rizzer.ai because I believe in this. I believe that everyone deserves a fair shot at making a great first impression. And rizzer.ai exists to make this belief a reality. Because let's face it, in the world of online dating, a picture really is worth a thousand words.

Your website looks nice, but I think the wording is a bit misleading. It's not "AI enhanced" images, it's "AI generated", and there's actually a big difference there, especially when it comes to dating app photos. This is crossing into catfishing territory, and I'm sure that the vast majority of people would be a bit weirded out if they realised that a potential match was using AI to create their dating app pictures.

Imagine a situation where you meet up and someone says "I loved that photo of you by the beach, where was that?" You're then in a very awkward spot. Either you have to lie and make something up, or you have to admit that it's not a real photo and you created it using an AI dating app image generator. Neither of those things is getting you off to a good start.

Hi! And thanks for taking the time to give some feedback; having your first anonymous person take a look at your project is always thrilling :)

I totally get where you're coming from, but personally I think dating is more about signaling rather than a rigorous reading of reality. Also, it has always depended on the individual's morality to convey truthful signals.

To start off, people who would catfish with AI are people who currently catfish without AI, so I don't think this would create a new gaggle of morally defunct people. As for what might be considered catfishing- putting on a bunch of makeup and taking pictures at nice angles has always been how social media works; better cameras, better lighting, etc isn't catfishing, it's portraying yourself how you wish to be seen. Whether or not a particular instance is 'catfishing' to another person is pretty subjective.

I believe that rather than focusing on the immediate reality, dating is all about signaling who you believe yourself to be. The means through which you do that signaling is significantly less important, as long as you get the message across.

For the beach example you gave, what would you say is more important? The fact that it's not a picture of a real instance of you at the beach - or - the signal that the photo gives off which suggests you're the kind of person who likes going to the beach? I can guarantee that for every person who lied about going to the beach, there are 10 people who have been to many beaches, but never had a picture taken!

IMO this app is meant to help those people :)

That's an interesting take on it and I do kind of see where you're coming from. It would be interesting to run some experiments with it and compare success rates with and without, all things being equal. I can't help but wonder if it might cause more harm than good, due to the uncanny valley effect. Our brains are very good at detecting when something is wrong, especially when it comes to faces, etc. Seeing as though online dating comes with certain risks and is highly based on trust, I wonder if, even subconsciously, people might be put off by these kinds of photos.

The upshot is, if you ran some experiments, you could put some statistics on your website that would be a great selling point. E.g. "Get 30% more matches"

Yea that's a good idea. It might also be cool to do some surveys to see how different age groups respond to the idea of AI images in dating or in general. It would help in niching down which demo to market to.

Neat idea! You should redirect http to https though, as I clicked the link above and there was no SSL cert ;)

Fixed :) Thanks for the heads up!

The app and website look cool. I am not sure how ethical something like this is, and even whether the dating platforms allow "fake" content. Isn't this promoting catfishing?

      Thanks!

See below comment, but no, this would actually be a more expensive way to catfish so I’m not sure why someone would do that.

Catfishing is also pointless because the moment they see you IRL and you’re different they’d just get angry and leave.
