As a full time digital nomad of 5 years I became tired of having to collate information about possible destinations from different sources. Some paywalled, some massively outdated and some not offering the data I needed.

A great example was a recent trip to Da Nang, Vietnam in 2023. Upon arriving I discovered I was staying in a really quiet part of the city - a good 15 to 20 min walk from most amentities such as shops, bars and gyms. All of the tools I used suggested Da Nang was a great spot, but they didn't give me any indication of which neighbourhood within Da Nang I should be staying.

So I decided to try and solve that.

RoamRank not only gives an oversight of common living costs but also uses heatmaps to highlight the best areas of town to base yourself.

As well as verified real world wifi speeds tests and my own personal recommenations of where to eat, drink and play.

I built RoamRank to scratch my own itch. And I figured (and hope) others may find it useful too.
