No-one wants another social media.
So I stopped beating around the bush and did what I should have done a while ago if I had the balls - I integrated Rocket into other social apps.
Oh and I changed the name to Unscroll.
My biggest concern is the legal risk of one of these big nasty tech companies coming after me - what I'm doing is definitely not in their interest.
Wonder why I'm writing this out in the open.
Oh well. Sue me.
It's been a long slow slog mostly fueled by cheap facebook ads, forum posts, asking friends to sign up, etc.
The biggest takeaway is this stuff is hard and I really need to work on finding that market niche that gives me really strong market pull and potential for good network effects.
So... most people don't like the word Productivity. Or Psychology. They sound too complex and push people away, despite it being super effective. So I needed an umbrella term that would truly encapsulate the magnitude and effective power Rocket can have and be more accessible to the average target customer. It's really on now - competing against Facebook and Instagram for people's attention will be fun.
I used Thunkable, a low code mobile app builder. It's pretty powerful but very clunky. Pretty amazing what you can do without coding though. Low code is perfect for this kind of thing as I'm a one man show. Not sure how long I'll be able to run with it but we will see.
