Role Advisor
AI career coach extension that interviews you to find resume
Just want to share a bit of my story. To be honest, the job market right now is completely crazy. I’ve been looking for a new role for almost 6 months because my current company isn't very secure anymore, and I have basically heard nothing back. It's been super quiet and honestly quite stressful.
I’m in middle management, so I'm stuck in a very difficult position. I'm not young anymore, not hands-on enough for junior roles, but also not senior enough to be untouchable. Especially here in Hong Kong, the environment is just super competitive.
Every time I found an interesting job, tailoring my CV was just incredibly annoying and took forever. So a few weeks ago, I decided to code a Chrome extension to help myself. It puts a sidebar next to the job description, reads it, and compares it with my base resume to find the gaps. Then, it literally interviews me like a career coach. It asks me questions to remind me of things I did years ago but forgot to put in my CV. After that, it inserts the ATS keywords and helps generate a tailored CV and cover letter.
It actually started making my own job hunt easier, so I thought, besides just looking for jobs, can I create my own opportunity? I polished it up and put it online.
But I’m just one person, and I really need real feedback to see if this works for others. I'm not trying to make quick money from desperate job seekers, I just want to see if I built something truly useful against this broken hiring system.
I want to give full premium access to beta testers here. The extension is completely free to download and try at first anyway, so you can just go directly to the website at https://roleadvisor.app and give it a spin. If you like it but run out of credits or need more access, just leave a comment on this post or send me a message with your account email. I will manually unlock everything for you in my backend.
If you are also struggling with the job hunt right now, please give it a try. No need to be nice, just give me your honest thoughts on what I need to fix.
