November 15, 2021 Launched v1.5

We learned a lot from the initial launch. We were dealing with a good deal of bugs and UX issues. We decided to update the UI and triaged the critical bugs. We decided to invest in ASO and worked hard on a high fidelity app and play store experience with helpful and playful copy. We also localized the content in 3 additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean).

June 19, 2021 Launched v2.0

We were still experiencing a good deal of buggy behavior in the app as well as user experience shortcomings. We relaunched with the following improvements:

  • Streamlined onboarding to get the user to the homepage experience faster
  • Pagination to optimize the experience for users who follow hundreds of public figures
  • Retweets and Replies made clearer for the user
  • Improved video playback experience
  • Overall app optimization to improve performance

May 1, 2020 Launched iOS and Android MVP app

We built a clickable prototype on Invision that we tested with users. Once we felt good about the overall user experience, we worked with a 3rd party agency to build it on React. We interviewed several agencies and found one based in Uruguay. They were collaborative, transparent and easy to work with. However, we ended up going over budget and in hindsight this was normal. My initial expectations were grounded in naivete and I learned a lot from this experience.

In parallel, I started to network actively to look for a technical cofounder who could take the reins once the initial MVP was built and launched.

December 1, 2019 Ideation

The idea originated from my sister. On one of her visits to see me and her months’ old baby niece, my sister tapped at her phone frustratingly. She asked if there was a way she could see the Kpop boy band BTS’ posts on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Youku, Daum, Weibo, Facebook all in one place. She not only tracked them on the major US social media platforms but also ones originated in Asia Pacific for fuller coverage. She found having to go back and forth between different platforms cumbersome and time consuming when all she wanted was to be able to see all of their posts across the different social media platforms in one place. Given how practical this sounded, I reassured her surely there was an app that did this already. I was proven wrong and have done customer validation that showed this wasn’t a pain point unique to my sister.
