Rugby Warfare
A Rugby Lifestyle Brand
COVID nearly killed us.
With revenue of £180,000 in 2016
£330,000 in 2017
£355,000 in 2018
£280,000 in 2019
we were picking up steam!
But 2020 hasn't enabled us to sell until now.
Time to sell, £25,000 worth of stock for £100,000 revenue by Jan 2021
Combination of Facebook ads, email marketing, re-growing the community, Instagram, and feedback.
I asked my customers who have been with me a long time to offer feedback. It was priceless. I have reignited the connection with them and will continue with my focus on building 1000 solid fans.
Note: we've only got 1 product out of 5 in stock, the rest of the stock lands in 10 days, exciting!

Congratulations on your success @ScottFlear
I returned back to SF and again, no real plan.
I decided to message people on Linkedin who worked at these companies and who played rugby at college.
I had a few nibbles here and there.
I messaged the sf touch rugby guys to see if they could help and they said they could.
So with them behind me and me messaging everyone on Linkedin I managed to get the word out.
Unfortunately on the day, there was a huge fire and the skies were grey and filled with ash. But we managed to get it going!
Tesla won the final!

I flew to Beirut where my designers company is based.
Here we discussed our plan for winter 2018 and ranges for 2019.
I met his team, we went through branding, positioning and fabrics.
It was an awesome trip and solidified out 2019 line up.
Beirut is also beautiful!
An episode of behind the brand about it here

I moved out to SF on a 3month esta with no plan but to try and make something work for the 7s rugby world cup which was being held in SF that summer.
I met up with decathlon to see if we could team up and we made a solid plan for it.
But...I messed my esta up. I had to leave before the tournament, nightmare.
However, I did scout some areas for a store combined with a supplement company. It ended up being a bit too expensive but it was a great experience.

ISPO in Munich. Met with my designer and we went hunting for new fabrics.
Very cool to see so many fabrics and companies. Speaking directly to them gave me a far better idea of how the whole supply chain worked.
I filmed it with my designer, maybe you can find it useful!

We promoted our stuff on social media and had many people DM us.
One of them was a new zealand All Blacks player Ofa.
I decided to film a "behind the brand" video for this day. It was black Friday 2017.
I then went on to meet pro players for Bristol to shoot content.
Very cool day!

The Military Camo Range
I sold items on pre-order only to ensure I had the money in to place the deposit and then to sell out before the stock landed.
risky but it worked. this range sold fast.
Here's the video we made promoting it, we've come a long way!

There needs to be an athleisure brand with the core values of rugby. I'm a passionate rugby player & supporter but believe that anyone can live a rugby lifestyle. That's why it exists, for those people that want it.
