SAASIFY
Build a SAAS App this weekend using NodeJS and ReactJS
Today I crossed 1000$ in revenue from my Udemy course.
Course: Build a SAAS App this weekend
The best part is seeing students actually build their first SAAS application after following this course.
Had to redo all the Stripe videos because they rehauled all their documentation. In the end, I hope it works out.
Crossed $400 in revenue this week from my 2 courses.
In Udemy, reviews and ratings are very important. Both are slowly receiving good reviews and that should help the revenue in the future.
Need to get creative in marketing or invest more time !!

My course on Udemy - Build a SAAS App this weekend in Node and ReactJS (https://www.udemy.com/course/saasify-build-a-complete-saas-app-this-weekend/) has earned me $107.38 in around 25 days. Students have told me that they are seeing value from the course. One student has actually built an MVP for the SAAS app using this course as a template.

Students are enrolling from all over the world and Udemy has localized pricing for all countries. Thats pretty cool.
For example: 10$ sale in US goes for 399 Indian Rupees (around 6 dollars), but Poland and South Korea pay equivalent of 10$ in their currency.

Udemy takes 50% at least. So I think the total revenue is at least 40$. Not bad.
Another surprise: The top referring websites to my Udemy course are from indiehackers !!
So, here's the link again SAASiFy - Build a SAAS App this weekend in Node and React

My SAAS Course had its first sale for 12.99$. After Udemy commission my revenue share will be $5 and some cents.
My goal is to have 10 sales in the first week. Hope this trend continues.

Launched my course on Udemy -

Thank you indiehackers community for the inspiration.
Next step is to integrate redux to the course and make it a ready to use SAAS app.
I am using this in 2 other side projects and so I thought I should convert this into a course.

Sweet, what tools / services did you use to record / organise / produce the course, and reduce the overhead of cross-publishing to the two platforms (udemy, teachable...)?

Recorded in QuickTime on mac. Cross publishing overhead is not big enough to optimize. Udemy has a bulk uploader -> Select all files in the folder, hit upload and wait. It was pretty fast,

Congratulations! Can I ask some questions:
How long did it create you to "design" the course?
How long did it take you to record the course lectures?
Broadly how are you promoting the course, are are you relying on the Udemy community?
Have you made a course (or youtube videos etc.) before on software dev?
Did you enjoy making it? :-)

I have previously created 2 SAAS apps. So I had my design ready. This is a smaller version of those 2 apps.
It took me like 3 months to record them. I did them after work in the nights . My weekends are taken by my little one.
I am struggling with marketing. Right now relying on Udemy. This is one aspect I don’t have any experience.
I enjoyed making it and will make more :)
Thank you for your questions.

congrats on the launch!
The number of videos has far exceeded what I originally imagined. Its definitely coming along pretty good -

It can bring value for new JS devs and also other devs who know JS and are ready to launch their own SAAS this weekend.

This idea exists so that indie hackers can start working on their idea immediately instead of working on non-idea-related-but-important-stuff like User Registration, Login, Emails, Stripe Payments, etc
