When I acquired Saber Feedback in April 2000 it had about 50 customers. Since then, I’ve had trouble getting new customers. For the first nine months after acquisition I only managed to sign up three new customers.
However in the last two months, my focus on marketing has started to pay off. I got 4 new customers in January and 3 new customers in February.
This gives a total of 10 new paying customers in 11 months. Best of all is that the pace seems to be picking up.
My aim now is to get the next 10 customers quicker. Let’s see if I can do it in just a few months.
Every week I either add a new piece of content or improve an existing piece of content. With the help of an SEO consultant I learned how to improve the SEO of existing pages and new pages. Using a checklist I created I apply this advice to each piece of content.
Most of all I was persistent and patient.

About
I acquired Saber Feedback from the original founder in April 2020. I bought it because the founder was ready to sell it, it had plateaued, and I believed I could see a way to improve sales.

The customers seem to be quite sticky which is great!
congrats steve!
Congrats! What Marketing did you do?
Primarily SEO, but also I added a new onboarding email sequence.
The SEO has started delivering results, but it is a long, slow process for it start working. So many months...
Nice! Well done :)
Can you elaborate a bit on what you did on seo?
That's a tough one! I don't think I can adequately summarise in a comment on what we did for SEO.
It has become a focus, where I dedicate time every week to learn a bit more about SEO and to either write new content or improve our existing content accordingly. Rinse and repeat for almost a year!
Awesome, congrats! Out of curiosity, how do you have 4K in revenue/month with 10 customers with your current pricing?
When I acquired Saber Feedback it already had some customers. It took me 11 months to get first 10 customers under my ownership.
Gotcha. Congrats btw 🙂

Oops, yes, April 2020. Otherwise it would be a remarkable story of persistence!
