Pay slips made easy
On June 1st we will finally launch publically and start our marketing offensive to acquire new customers.
We will only serve the Luxembourgish market as we understand it and it is large enough for indie hackers to succeed in.
Our goal is to become profitable by the end of the year.
We incorporated on March 24th together with an additional partner – an accounting firm – who brought business domain knowledge and some seed funding to the table.
Steve now retains the majority stake in the business and is the managing director.
Finally we can test all the edge cases and launch publically ASAP.
In the meantime a few additional customers found the website and signed up, all without marketing and customer acquisition. It's further proof we are on the right track.

We found our first paying customer in December through a partnership deal. This brought the total users on the platform to 5 entities and we took the opportunity to analyze what we'd need to make better for a public launch.
Up until then we didn't do any advertising and no direct customer acquisition.

After having worked on-and-off on the project for a few months and having run the software internally with 12 employees for 4 months I found Steve as a technical co-founder.
While Sven is a developer by trade he was lacking time to really launch a commercial product based on the initial prototype. Steve was a much better fit to launch a tool potentially impacting the whole business eco-system in Luxembourg, given that salary.lu is the first self-service pay slip service in Luxembourg.

I was fed up with paying a company 20 or more euros per salary slip across all the structures I'm a director in. It doesn't look like a lot of money individually but paying 20 € / month per employee is 240 € / employee per year.
Adding this up I cam to the conclusion that per 10 employees (and I managed 12 at that point) it was worth one week of development to make my life easier!
So I came up with a quick and dirty MVP solving my pain points.

We were fed up with the cost and complexity of payslips and decided to disrupt a business that got way too comfortable and wasn't serving its customers well.
